❤️🐶 STELLA – BACK TO FOSTER, BACK TO HERSELF… A LITTLE GIRL WHO LOVES DOGS AND PEOPLE 🐶❤️
🔄 UPDATE – STELLA IS BACK TO HER FOSTER
Unfortunately, Stella’s foster-to-adopt placement didn’t lead to what we had hoped. After around two weeks in Scotland, she has been returned to her previous foster in Burton-upon-Trent.
The main concern was Stella’s behaviour towards other dogs while on lead — barking and pulling when she saw them, which the family interpreted as aggression and found too difficult to manage.
But this was perhaps the biggest misunderstanding that could happen to Stella. Because if there is one thing we now know beyond doubt, it is that this little girl LOVES other dogs. ❤️
Let’s look at Stella herself, rather than the label.
When Stella first arrived at her Burton foster, Moon was already there — yes, our Moon, a LARGE, extremely friendly and sometimes rather enthusiastic boy! 😁 A completely unfamiliar big dog could easily have overwhelmed a newly arrived small girl.
Did it scare Stella? Not at all. Within an hour they were happily playing together in the garden, between Stella’s visits to her foster’s lap for cuddles. She spent several weeks there, happy, relaxed and beautifully settled.
Then she left for her foster-to-adopt home as the only dog.
When that placement ended, Stella’s previous foster drove all the way to Scotland to bring their sweet foster girl back. What they saw was heartbreaking. Stella, who had left them happy and in lovely condition, had visibly lost weight — her foster could see her spine — and she returned stressed and overwhelmed.
But then something rather wonderful happened. ❤️
While Stella had been away, another foster dog had arrived — our little Caramel. The girls had NEVER met.
Within ONE HOUR of Stella coming home:
“Her and Caramel are like terrible twins already 😅🤣 They’re like sisters playing and planning secret missions together to see who can steal our socks!” 😂
And there, once again, was the Stella we know.

🐾 More About Stella
Stella now shares her foster home with Moon and Caramel and is back to enjoying canine company, playing and being her affectionate little self.
Her lead behaviour does need work. We are not pretending otherwise. She can become very excited and frustrated when seeing dogs while restrained, resulting in barking and pulling. But if there will be another dog to walk with, we believe this issue can be managed much better, as Stella learns safety from other dogs.
At home, Stella loves toys, cuddles, zoomies and being involved in family life. She also needs plenty of companionship and is not suited to spending long periods alone.
🏡 Ideal Home
This time, we want no more errors with Stella:
🐶 Another friendly, confident, well-balanced and still playful dog is ESSENTIAL
🏡 Secure private garden
👤 People around most of the time, especially initially
❤️ A family who understands that a rescue dog needs time, trust and realistic expectations.
She is back somewhere without pressure or expectations that she should arrive as a perfectly pre-programmed dog — just patience, love and trust. And Stella responds to that beautifully.
💞 Stella came back stressed and thinner. But she also came back to people who already know and love her — and to two dogs who apparently have very important sock-stealing missions waiting for her. 😂❤️
Now we need just one more thing: the right family.
A family with a doggy friend beside her, who will see Stella for what she really is — a sweet, funny, affectionate little girl with an enormous amount of love to give. ❤️
