💙🐶 SANTOS – HIS SUPERPOWER IS WINNING HEARTS 🐶💙

Santos arrived in the UK at the end of May and went straight into one of our wonderful foster homes. And honestly… he hasn’t stopped amazing since.

When Santos arrived, he was very timid. Not defensive. Not trying to keep people away. Not trying to make himself look brave. Just quiet. Too quiet. A little dog trying his best to disappear.

But then he stepped into foster house and discovered something wonderful. DOGS. Lots of dogs. Resident dogs. Foster dogs. New friends everywhere. And suddenly Santos came alive.

From the very first minute, he politely approached every dog he met and introduced himself in the sweetest way imaginable — with gentle little kisses. Even dogs that weren’t immediately friendly. Even dogs who barked at him. Santos simply approached with kindness, softness and affection.

And somehow every single dog accepted him. He wasn’t pushy. He wasn’t overwhelming. He didn’t invade space. He simply offered friendship. Within hours he had made friends with everyone.

Watching him interact with other dogs is genuinely something special. He seems to speak their language perfectly. He melts hearts wherever he goes and makes friends with absolutely everyone he meets.

Santos is a 1-year-old small boy, much smaller than he appears in photographs, with an incredibly gentle, delecate and loving nature.

💔 Rescue Story
Santos was evacuated from Zaporizhzhia, a frontline region of Ukraine living under constant shelling and attacks. He was rescued practically from beneath the explosions themselves before the situation became even more dangerous.

His beautiful house manners strongly suggest he once belonged to someone and lived as a family pet before becoming another casualty of war. Despite everything he has experienced, Santos has remained one of the gentlest little souls imaginable.

🐾 More About Santos

Every day in foster, Santos is making incredible progress.

The first day he wouldn’t approach people voluntarily, although he never protested when handling was necessary. The next day he started taking treats from hands. Then he began accepting gentle strokes. The following day he was relaxed enough to enjoy being carried briefly across roads during walks. And within just five days he transformed into a complete cuddle bug.

Now he sleeps in a human bed with his foster family, enjoys gentle affection, follows people around the house and actively seeks closeness.

His foster says:
“Just a few days and little Santos is doing amazing. He loves going out and now happily walks on lead without needing to be carried. In the park he bounces after the other dogs with a cheerful little step, loves sniffing and enjoys scatter feeding games. He takes food from my hand, follows me through the house and loves being stroked when resting on the bed. He LOVES the bed!

He is beautifully affectionate with all the dogs and especially loves Marco (my other Ukrainian foster). He is a dog that really creeps into your heart because of his tenderness, sweetness and gentle nature. Beautifully mannered in the house, very restful. Toileting outside almost from day one, which is very rare. Once he overcomes his fear he is such an easy dog. Very precious.

Dogs are his answer, his comfort and his way of learning. I am so grateful to have him in my home.”

🏡 Ideal Home

Santos absolutely MUST have another friendly resident dog in his future home. The more dog friends around him, the happier he becomes. Not because he simply likes dogs. Because he genuinely thrives around them. He learns from them, relaxes because of them and gains confidence through them. A multi-dog home would be an absolute dream for Santos. He would love friendly, social dogs who enjoy companionship, cuddles and play.

But digs don’t turn him away from people. His heart is much bigger then his little body and there is enough space for everyone. A calm, loving home with kind people and plenty of canine company would allow this beautiful little boy to truly flourish.

💞 Santos doesn’t walk into a home and demand attention. Instead, he quietly works his way into your heart. One gentle kiss for a dog friend. One trusting glance. One small step of bravery at a time. And before you realise it, you can’t imagine life without him. 💙
