❤️🐶 SAGA – AN AMAZING GIRL WHO JUST NEEDS LIFE TO BE MORE PREDUCTABLE 🐶❤️
🔄 UPDATE – SAGA SETTLED BEUTIFULLY AT FOSTER AND LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME
Beautiful Peppa, now called Saga, arrived in the UK at the end of June. We hoped she had found her forever home, and her adopter mum loves her dearly. ❤️
But sometimes a lovely dog and a loving family can simply be the wrong match. Saga lived in a flat with access to a garden and two young children, aged 4 and 7. During the school holidays especially, with young children at home virtually all day, life often is naturally busy and unpredictable.
And one moment Saga told her family that this is simply too much for her. She has tried to adjust, communicated her discomfort by giving signals and growling when she needed space. But instead of becoming more used to busy home with young children as time passes, she appeared to become less tolerant of the young children activity around her.
Her adopter doesn’t want to wait until Saga feels so overwhelmed that one day a growl becomes something more. It’s not right to take that risk — either with Saga or with her children. So she has made the responsible decision to ask us to find Saga a calmer home where she can finally relax.
Now Saga went to one of our amazing foster homes without young children, but with another dog and settled absolutely beautifully there, waiting for her new family to see her.

💔 Rescue Story
Saga was originally found wandering in a small town in Ukraine. Nobody knew where she had come from, how long she had been alone or why nobody was looking for her.
She was rescued and eventually given the opportunity to travel to the UK, arriving at the end of June.
Her family welcomed her with love and tried their best to make things work. Saga tried too.
But it became increasingly clear that underneath her affectionate nature is a sensitive girl who needs more peace, predictability and personal space than a home with two young children can realistically provide.
Her adopter mum adored her, but realistically understood, that this isn’t the environment in which she can truly thrive. So Saga is now looking for her forever home again to show what a wonderful girl she is in the right environment.
🐾 More About Saga
There is so much to love about this girl. ❤️
Saga forms a wonderfully strong bond with her people. She LOVES scratches, cuddles and affection and will actively seek them out from the humans she trusts. She enjoys being close and being part of family life, while also appreciating having her own space when she needs it.
She is intelligent, sensitive and eager to learn. Since arriving in the UK she has made fantastic progress. Saga walks beautifully on the lead and absolutely loves long walks and exploring. At home she settles really well and is generally an easy, undemanding companion. Her family describe her as incredibly endearing, with lots of personality.
She loves physical affection when she chooses and feels comfortable with it. What she finds difficult is unpredictable interaction or handling when she isn’t ready for it.
Saga communicates when she is uncomfortable. Her future family need to listen to those signals rather than expecting her to tolerate situations she finds overwhelming.
She can also feel anxious around some dogs, particularly those who are excitable or unpredictable. With calmer dogs and when she feels secure, she is relaxed and sociable.
🏡 Ideal Home
Saga needs a calm, adult-only home, or potentially one with older, dog-savvy teenagers.
We are looking for home with kind, confident people who understand canine body language and won’t rush her.
A quieter home without young children or frequent young visitors is important. We would also love her to have a secure private garden in peaceful environment where she can relax away from the busy outside world.
Give her lovely walks, little adventures, a predictable routine, peaceful evenings, plenty of affection when she asks for it and the security — and you will see the beautiful dog her family already knows. ❤️
💞 Saga hasn’t failed her home. And her family haven’t failed her.
Sometimes recognising that the environment is wrong before something serious happens is the kindest decision people can make. Her adopter mum loves her and wants Saga’s next home to give her what this one simply cannot: calm, predictability and the freedom to relax without constantly having to ask the world for space.
Now we need to listen to what she’s telling us and find the home where this affectionate, clever, sensitive girl can finally feel completely safe. ❤️
