🔄 Update
Max is now in an emergency foster home, and this has already made a difference. We still looking for longer-term foster home for him, as current home is available only short term, we just need to be sure we can find him the right home he deserves without time pressure.
His foster is not really experienced, but kind and patient dog-lover, who understands that Max’s reactions are not aggression, but fear and an inability to cope when too much happens too quickly. And in this calm, understanding environment, Max has already started to settle.
He is decompressing, slowly building trust, and beginning to feel safe again. With the right approach, he is showing exactly who he truly is.
It is very important to understand — Max is not a traumatised dog by is past. He was brought to safety at just 2 months old and raised in love, care and a home environment. He grew up surrounded by people, children and dogs, sleeping next to his foster under the same duvet. We attache here a few videos of his life just before we arrived in England in January 2026.
The Max you see now is the result of being pushed too fast into a world that was too much for his sensitive nature. Too many places, too many people, too many expectations and human ambitions.
In a calm, predictable environment where nothing is demanded from him except to simply be himself — he returns to who he really is: a soft, loving, slightly shy boy with a huge heart.

💔 Rescue Story / Background
Max’s life began in the chaos of war. He and his siblings were found in a ruined house near the frontline after their mother was killed by shrapnel. A soldier took them in, caring for them until help could arrive.
A volunteer then risked everything to bring them to safety. From that moment on, Max grew up in a loving foster village home, surrounded by care, warmth and stability. He did miss active city socialisation, but in his quieter world this was not a problem — he was simply a sensitive, slightly shy, loving boy.
Then Max arrived in the UK 2,5 months ago and was adopted into what was meant to be his forever home. He came into the home timid and overwhelmed after the huge change. His whole world had turned upside down — from a quiet, predictable life to a completely different environment.
His new family first welcomed him with kindness and patience, and Max bonded with them very quickly. Already by the next day he was seeking closeness, cuddling and attaching deeply. Encouraged by this progress, they began introducing him more and more to the outside world.
At first Max made amazing progress — from unsure first walks in secure fields to exploring many new places. Very quickly he was travelling with the family, visiting castles, coastlines, mountains, deer park and many other busy environments. The family were sending happy updates about him every few days and amazed by how bright he was, how quickly he learned and how deeply he bonded.
But at some point the pace became too much for such a sensitive dog. Gradually Max became overwhelmed, and his reactivity began to grow both on walks and towards visitors in the home.
Eventually, after one of these reactions escalated during a close encounter with a passer-by, the family felt they could no longer manage the situation. We offered support, including one month with a fully qualified behaviourist specialising in reactivity, but this was declined. They lost trust, they lost interest in him and required him to be moved as soon as possible. So Max lost his home again.
🐕 More About Max
Max is incredibly loving with his people when feels safe. Once he trusts you, he gives everything — loyalty, closeness, quiet companionship. He wants to be near, to feel safe, to belong.
At stable structured home, he is calm, affectionate and not destructive. He enjoys cuddles, soft spaces and being part of a peaceful routine.
His sensitivity shows in new or overwhelming situations. When pushed too quickly into unfamiliar environments, busy places or constant interaction, he becomes unsure and reactive.
But when given time, space and understanding — he settles, softens and returns to his true nature.
He does not need a busy life. He does not need to meet everyone. He does not need to be taken everywhere.
He needs a person who will not rush him, not expect too much, and who will allow him to grow in confidence at his own pace.
🏡 Ideal Home
Max needs a calm, stable home in a rural or semi-rural environment, with minimal pressure and predictable routine.
He would suit someone home-based or with a steady lifestyle, who understands sensitive dogs and is willing to continue slow, structured socialisation OR will just allow him to be a loving companion for share quiet life.
He does not need a busy social life — he needs emotional safety, patience and consistency.
💙 Max is not “too much” — the new world has simply been too much for him.
In the right home, where he is allowed to just be, he will become the most loyal, gentle and loving companion.
🩺 Health Information
Max is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is fully healthy. DNA testing shows no known genetic health predispositions.
