💙🐶 MARCO – HE ONLY NEEDED A LITTLE MORE TIME…AND NOW BLOSSOMS 🐶💙

💔 Marco arrived in the UK in the middle of May together with his sister Yara, hoping this would finally be the beginning of their forever lives. But less than a week after arrival, Marco already needed to move again.

Not because he did anything wrong. But because after losing everything familiar, surviving a huge journey, arriving into a completely unknown country… he became overwhelmed and frightened around unfamiliar men and young children in the home.

His way of communicating this was barking. No aggression. No nastiness. Just fear and uncertainty from still a puppy dog whose entire world changed overnight.

His foster says:
“Marco and Yara arrived just under a week ago to me after having only been in the UK for 5 previous days.

I think none of us can fully appreciate how overwhelming the change of life can be for these precious young souls, having lost everything they’ve known, endured a really long journey and then found themselves in a strange land, with strange people, language, smells, sights etc.”

Marco is around 9 months old, lower-medium in size, with a playful heart and incredibly affectionate nature.

💔 Rescue Story
Marco was found as a tiny newborn puppy together with his mum and siblings abandoned on the shore of a lake. Tiny helpless babies left without safety or shelter.
Thankfully they were rescued in time and brought into care before tragedy happened.

His foster says:
“Marco bonds incredibly quickly and strongly with his human! He loves playing with other dogs and toys, is very soft natured and affectionate, and is growing in confidence every day.”

Despite all the upheaval, Marco has already shown how quickly he learns to trust once he feels emotionally safe.

“He has shown a tendency to be unsure of men in the home, but is not at all aggressive… he simply barks and runs away… he is only frightened and overwhelmed. Within a few short days, he has already improved hugely with my husband in the home, showing that he just needs some time, understanding and patience… and 6 days is not long at all!!”

Marco absolutely LOVES other dogs and truly NEEDS female canine companionship in his future home. He learns confidence through other dogs and emotionally settles much faster when he has a balanced, playful companion beside him.

“He is learning from the other dogs in the home and is becoming more curious and confident with people in general.”

Marco is playful and puppy-like in lovely ways. He loves toys, chews and interaction, but at the same time he is not high energy or chaotic in the home.

For both puppies, foster says:
“They are both amazing young dogs, still puppylike in many ways. They are not high energy and are very restful and well mannered in the home.

Once bonded with their human, they love contact, cuddles, strokes, belly rubs and are happy to be brushed. Beautiful natured dogs, not demanding at all, just need their human to be there for them.”

🏡 Ideal Home

Marco would thrive in a calm but active home with another friendly but not timid resident female dog who can continue helping him build confidence and emotional security.

A quieter rural or semi-rural environment with a secure garden would suit him far better than busy urban life full of constant stimulation.

He would love people who enjoy walks, companionship and including a dog in daily life, but who also understand that trust and confidence cannot be built overnight.

What Marco needs is just little patience to allow him feel secure, kindness, predictability and people willing to allow him time to exhale and realise he is finally safe.

💞 Marco is not asking for perfection. He is simply asking for somebody not to give up on him before he even had a chance to settle, trust and show who he truly is. 💙

Marco is fully healthy, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. All dogs are C.Brucella tested before travel (licensed laboratory certificate provided).
