💔 Rescue Story
Cooper’s life has been filled with love – and heartbreak. He was adopted via Paws Help in 2022 as a puppy and adored by his owner. Sadly, after a serious accident (not connected to Cooper) that left her with life-changing injuries, she could no longer give Cooper the exercise and structure he needed. Despite her best care and lot of love to Cooper – training, day-care, and even earning his Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Award – the situation became too difficult with owners mobility issues, and the unthinkable was suggested: that Cooper be put to sleep.
We refused to give up on him. After an urgent appeal, Cooper found a lovely foster home, but unfortunately it wasn’t the right fit – he struggled to settle and couldn’t share his home space with the resident dog. Heartbreakingly, he was anxious, overwhelmed, and lost once again.
💖 Then, another wonderful family stepped forward. Cooper moved to his current foster home in Loughborough just days ago, and here’s what they say:
“He’s a very sweet boy who has been through so much change recently. He’s wary and nervous of people at first, especially men, but he is incredibly willing to trust. All he wants is someone to love him who won’t leave or give up.
He thrives on stimulation and is full of energy – he needs someone dedicated to giving him the attention, structure, and exercise he craves. He’s not a dog for everyone, but for the right person, he will give his whole heart. He doesn’t like sharing his home with other dogs, but he’s happy to make friends out on walks – he loves playtime and connection.”
🐾 More About Cooper
Cooper is clever, affectionate, and eager to please. He learns quickly and responds beautifully to calm, confident handling. He loves walks, enrichment games, and spending time outdoors. Once he trusts you, he’ll follow you everywhere with quiet devotion.
He needs a stable, experienced home with adults only – someone who can guide him gently and help him rebuild confidence after so much upheaval. He is wary of men at first, so patience and time are essential, but once he bonds, he bonds deeply.
🏡 Ideal Family
Cooper would thrive in a calm, structured home with secure outdoor space, an active routine, and a confident handler who enjoys long walks and has the time to invest in his wellbeing. He must be the only dog in the household but will enjoy regular social walks with other friendly dogs.
💞 Cooper has survived loss and confusion– yet he still trusts, still loves, still hopes. He’s a loyal, intelligent, and sensitive boy who just needs someone who won’t give up on him again. For the right person, Cooper will be a once-in-a-lifetime companion.
