Buddy’s family are being forced to move urgently from rented accommodation and cannot secure a pet-friendly property in time. With the stress of sudden relocation, a young child struggling with jealousy around the dog, and long working hours leaving Buddy alone too often, his family have made the painful decision to surrender him so he can have the life and companionship he deserves.

Buddy is a gentle, affectionate little soul who bonds warmly once given kindness. Indoors he is calm, well-mannered, fully house-trained, and crate-trained. He loves his routine, enjoys running in the garden, and would happily spend his days trotting after birds, sniffing the breeze, or curling up nearby his person.

He loves walks, but hasn’t been getting them regularly due to life circumstances. Because of this, he may pull and bark at other dogs —excited and unsur, but with correct introduction will enjoy. With patience and positive reinforcement, he will blossom beautifully; he simply hasn’t had the guidance or time he needed.

Buddy is shy at first with strangers entering the home but settles quickly once he realises they’re friendly. He has lived with very long hours alone during owner’s work shifts and coped well, though he would be far happier in a home with more company and structure.

He knows sit and paw, sleeps in his crate, and enjoys a peaceful, predictable environment.

Buddy will flourish in a peaceful, predictable household where life moves gently. A calm adult home or a home with older, steady children would give him the emotional space he needs. He would benefit from someone who is home often and can offer companionship throughout the day. He does not need a highly active lifestyle but will enjoy daily walks, soft guidance and plenty of comforting presence. A quiet environment with minimal visitors and no chaotic energy will help him settle, exhale, and rediscover confidence.
