๐Ÿ“– Rescue Story
๐Ÿถ Barryโ€™s life changed forever when his owner passed away, leaving him without the home he knew. He was found fending for himself among larger dogs, scavenging for food. Rescued and brought from war-torn Ukraine to the UK, he hoped for stability and love. He has now been in the UK for eight months, lives in a flat and is cared for in a home where his needs have been met, but itโ€™s clear he needs a quieter environment away from the bustle of city life. London is too over stimulating for him.

That’s what his current Foster family say about him: ” Barry is a brilliant dog with tons of potential but considering I have taken care of him for a nearly a year, he hasnโ€™t adapted to living in a busy city. He is very reactive with other dogs and will lunge. He also lunges at bicycles and doesnโ€™t like loud noises. All of these stresses impact him and so I feel he deserves a quiet life and to be supported by an owner who has taken care of rescues and is patient with him. I am a Nanny who takes care of a toddler and through patience and diligence, have established a guarded relationship with the toddler and Barry. She adores him and they have grown together, so there is potential for Barry to be around children that are very gentle with him.
Ideally he would be with an owner in the countryside, with a garden he can relax and feel safe.He loves going for walks and needs 2 good walks a day.

๐Ÿ• More Details
Barry is calm and well-behaved at home. He doesnโ€™t bark when the doorbell rings or when left alone, is housetrained, and quickly adapted to a routine. He loves his walks, is energetic outdoors, and enjoys runningโ€”but he does not enjoy play and is fussy with food, preferring varied home-cooked meals over kibble.

He is reactive to other dogs and will lunge if they come too close. He also reacts to certain triggers such as loud bikes, and people on narrow paths, sometimes going for feet. In busy areas, this can be difficult to manage, so he will do best in a quiet location away from heavy foot traffic and other dogs.

With people he trusts, Barry is affectionate He enjoys being invited for attention but is also content to spend time in his bed or on a cool floor. He accepts being brushed and bathed, provided itโ€™s done gently, and loves his harness to be put on him.
โ€œHeโ€™s been amazing in the flat with just me alone. Doesnโ€™t bark when the door goes, doesnโ€™t bark or whine when you leave him for 1-2 hours. Is very calm.โ€
