🐾 Meet Arlo! A gorgeous 19-month-old upper-medium Doberdor (Doberman × Labrador cross) with a wonderful combination of intelligence, enthusiasm and affection! He’s a friendly, confident and sociable young boy who loves people, enjoys playing with other dogs and is always ready for an adventure. And once he’s had his exercise, he’s more than happy to settle down for a lovely cuddle! 💙

💔 Rescue Story
Arlo has been living with his owner at army barracks, but unfortunately, a long-term military deployment means his owner can no longer provide him with the home and companionship he deserves. With no suitable long-term arrangements available, the difficult decision was made to ask rescue for help.
Arlo is now safe with a temporary foster family in Fishburn and looking for his forever home. ❤️

Arlo is a wonderfully sociable boy who approaches new people with confidence and enthusiasm. He loves attention, fuss and cuddles, and his temporary foster describes him as a friendly, happy young dog who really enjoys life.
He’s also SUPER intelligent! He already knows several commands, including sit, down, wait, paw and middle. He enjoys learning and would be a fantastic companion for someone interested in continuing his training through positive reinforcement.
Arlo absolutely loves playing with other dogs. Fetch, tug-of-war, running around and enjoying a good game are among his favourite activities. He can bark during play and occasionally become a little mouthy when overexcited, but this has already improved considerably with training.
Like many young, intelligent dogs, Arlo needs enough physical activity and mental stimulation to keep him happy. When his needs are met, he’s a calm, relaxed and affectionate companion. Without enough to do, he can become rather boisterous and start looking for ways to entertain himself! 😁
His lead walking is still improving, and although his recall is promising, it needs further practice around distractions. He’s a clever boy with lots of potential and would really enjoy learning new skills.
🏡 Ideal Home
Arlo would thrive with an active family who enjoy long walks, outdoor adventures, games and training. He needs people who appreciate the energy and intelligence of a young Doberman–Labrador cross and are happy to continue helping him develop into a well-mannered adult.
He could happily live with another friendly, playful dog or as an only dog with plenty of opportunities for socialisation and exercise.
Older, dog-savvy children would be suitable, as Arlo is friendly and affectionate but can sometimes be a little enthusiastic and clumsy, forgetting just how big he is!
A home with a secure garden would be lovely, and the most important thing is an active lifestyle, companionship and kind guidance.
💞 Arlo hasn’t lost his home because he’s done anything wrong. His owner’s military commitments have simply made it impossible to continue caring for him.
He’s a bright, loving young boy with so much to offer. All he needs now is a family who will enjoy his enthusiasm, nurture his intelligence and give him the happy, active life he deserves. 💙🐾
