About Paws Help
“Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever.”
~ Karen Davison
Paws Help Charity, established in September 2024, is the proud successor of Paw Help UK Rescue (2021-2024). Today, as Paws Help Charity, we continue that mission, rescuing abandoned and surrendered dogs in both the UK and from non-reachable for other Rescues East European countries. What started as a small rescue effort has grown into a registered charity, allowing us to expand our reach and help even more dogs in desperate situations.
Our rescue is foster-based, with no shelter or kennels. Instead, if no forever home is immediately available, our rescue dogs live in loving foster homes across Britain, receiving the care and attention they need while they await their forever families.
Our journey began with a simple but powerful dream: to change the lives of dogs in need (see Our Story). Over the years, this dream has grown into a full-scale rescue effort, where we tirelessly work to save abandoned and surrendered dogs, ensuring they receive the medical care, vaccinations, and support they need before finding their new families.
We are still the only British charity that finds loving homes for dogs from Ukraine, overcoming the complex formalities involved in bringing these dogs to safety.
Paws Help is powered by a dedicated team of volunteers – kind-hearted individuals who give their time and energy freely. This isn’t a paid job for them, but a passion. Every penny of the adoption fees goes directly to supporting dogs, from providing medical treatment and vaccinations to ensuring they are spayed or neutered where applicable. They also support a sterilisation campaign in war-torn Ukraine, where the situation has become dire with an increasing number of newly abandoned dogs. (Learn more about our project here.)
Our mission is simple yet powerful: to help as many dogs in need as possible and to find them safe, loving homes, regardless of their age, health, breed, or history. Every dog rehomed through Paws Help is vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered (age permitting), and overseas dogs come with a full Brucella Canis test, an approved laboratory certificate provided to their new owners. Our commitment doesn’t end at adoption; we provide lifelong Rescue Backup (RBU) and ongoing support to ensure each dog and their new family have the best possible experience.
At Paws Help, we believe every life matters. We also believe that our work is not just about saving individual dogs – it’s about building a more compassionate and responsible future for all animals, about fostering a more compassionate and responsible society. By rescuing and rehoming dogs, we not only give these animals a second chance but also reduce the number of strays and unwanted pets, easing the burden on local communities and shelters.
Paws Help promotes responsible pet ownership, encouraging education and awareness about the commitment required to care for a dog. With every dog we save, we believe we contribute to a world where animals are treated with the kindness and respect they deserve.
By supporting us, you’re not just changing the lives of dogs—you’re helping create stronger, more humane communities for everyone.
Join us on our mission to make a lasting, positive impact. Together, we can build a future where every dog finds a loving home, and no pet is left behind.
