💔 Rescue Story

Silky is the mum of Prince, June and Summer.

She was one of around 30 dogs collected by a family into a single flat with no garden. The dogs weren’t properly walked, treated, vaccinated or even adequately fed. Neighbours eventually called for help after constantly hearing them crying.

When volunteers arrived, many were terribly underweight, and the owners admitted that some dogs had already died from starvation.

Silky and her tiny puppies were among those removed. Thankfully, they were finally safe. Her babies are now grown and also looking for homes — Prince, June and Summer. ❤️

🐾 More About Silky

Silky had lived indoors but without proper walks. She currently lives in an enclosure, walks well on the lead and patiently waits to toilet outside.

She loves people and comes over readily for affection. She cuddles, gazes into your eyes and loves resting her head on your knees. She isn’t shy about wanting her turn either — if other dogs are getting strokes, Silky will try to squeeze her way to the front. 😁

Most of the time she is a calm girl, but occasionally her inner puppy suddenly appears and she starts running, jumping and playing just for the joy of it.

She is friendly with other dogs, although food should be managed separately as she can tell another dog off for approaching her meal.

🏡 Ideal Home

Although Silky gets along well with dogs, we think she may be happiest as the only dog. After a life spent surrounded by so many others, she would absolutely love having her own people, her own space and all those cuddles to herself. She is not a fan when other dog wants to eat from her bowl (will protect it) and also can try to push away other dog from human seeking love.

A peaceful place and home with a secure garden would be ideal, with people who want an affectionate companion beside them and will include her in everyday family life.

💞 Silky has raised her puppies. She has shared her space, her food and human attention with more dogs than most of us could imagine. Perhaps now it can finally be her turn. ❤️

Her own family. Her own comfortable bed. Her own pair of knees to rest that little head on — and the wonderful certainty that she is needed and loved.
