❤️🐶 AFINA – THE GIRL MY DAUGHTER WANTED TO BRING HOME 🐶❤️

Afina is a 2.5–3-year-old upper-medium girl with an exceptional combination of intelligence, gentleness and beautiful manners. Calmly affectionate, incredibly obedient and seemingly able to understand everything from half a word, she is the sort of dog you meet and immediately start imagining as part of your own family. ❤️

And in our case, that is exactly what happened.

💔 Rescue Story

Afina was abandoned around Christmas. Someone drove her to the area near a shelter and simply left her there. Confused and suddenly without the people she had known, Afina was seen wandering through the surrounding villages, apparently trying to understand where she was supposed to go.

Eventually she was brought to safety at the shelter. But safety is not the same as a home.

🐾 More About Afina

This summer, during my annual trip to Ukraine, I visited Afina’s shelter with my daughter.

There are always many wonderful dogs to meet on these visits. But sometimes there are few who simply gets under your skin.

For my daughter, that dog was Afina. She fell in love with her almost immediately and has been asking me ever since whether there is any possible way we could adopt her ourselves. ❤️

And I understand why. Afina is genuinely an exceptional dog. She approaches people confidently but politely. She loves being stroked and enjoys affection, yet she isn’t pushy or constantly demanding attention. More than anything, she wants to be with people.

She is clever and obedient. Her carers describe her as a dog who understands almost everything from half a word. She pays attention, listens and seems naturally tuned into the person beside her.

Afina currently lives in a kennel environment and walks perfectly on the lead.

She is friendly with dogs of both sexes and enjoys their company, although dogs aren’t the centre of her universe. People are.

She could therefore happily share her future home with another friendly dog, but we also believe she could be perfectly content as the only dog, enjoying a close relationship with her family.

She is moderately playful and has a lovely balance about her — happy to interact and enjoy life without being overwhelmingly energetic.

She is also wonderful with children, something my daughter had the opportunity to experience herself.

🏡 Ideal Home

If circumstances were different, Afina might already have her home with us.

But we have six dogs of our own, including a GSD cross, and all of us a squeeze into a very small house. Adding another upper-medium dog simply wouldn’t be fair or sensible, however much my daughter continues trying to persuade me. 😊

But somewhere across the UK there must be another dog-loving family who will look at Afina and feel exactly what my daughter felt when she met her.

She is friendly with all dogs, but what Afina really needs is people.

People who want a proper companion beside them. Someone to walk with, talk to, take on adventures and come home to. A family who will appreciate how intelligent and responsive she is and allow her to become part of their everyday lives.

She could suit a family with children beautifully and would also make a wonderful companion for a couple or individual looking for a loyal, sensible and affectionate dog.

💞 My daughter can’t give Afina the home she keeps asking us to give her. So instead, we promised to try to find the family who can.

Somewhere there is a home where Afina won’t be one of many dogs waiting behind a shelter fence. She will simply be Afina — someone’s dog, someone’s companion, someone’s much-loved family member. ❤️

Afina is fully healthy, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. All dogs are C.Brucella tested before travel (approved laboratory certificate provided).
