Silva is a 2-year-old upper-medium girl with a beautiful combination of qualities —calm and balanced at home, yet active, playful and full of enthusiasm once outside. She is incredibly gentle with people and almost seems overwhelmed with happiness when someone gives her affection. ❤️

💔 Rescue Story
Silva was found terribly thin and exhausted, hiding in a cave in the forest. She wasn’t alone. Her puppies were there with her, but sadly they were already dead. From what rescuers found, it appeared that somebody had deliberately killed them.

Silva had lost everything, and when she was discovered, she was in a desperately poor condition herself.

Yet the dog who emerged from that terrible experience is extraordinarily gentle and trusting. She hasn’t lost her desire to connect with people — if anything, affection seems to mean the whole world to her.

Silva now lives in a multi-dog foster home, is fully housetrained and walks nicely on the lead.

Indoors she is calm, balanced and beautifully behaved. She doesn’t push herself onto people, but she desperately loves attention. When someone starts stroking her, she becomes so still and absorbed in the moment that her carers joke she almost forgets to breathe.

She is incredibly loyal and eager to please, always watching her person and trying to understand what is expected of her.

Outside, another side of Silva comes alive. She loves running, exploring and long walks, and she absolutely adores playing with other dogs. She is an active girl who needs proper opportunities to use her legs, investigate the world and enjoy nature.

For this reason, we think she would be wonderful for an active family, particularly in a semi-rural location with access to green spaces, countryside and interesting walks.

There is one important consideration: Silva cannot live safely around cats. She becomes strongly fixated on them and her reaction suggests she could potentially harm a cat. For this reason, she needs not only a cat-free home and environment where cats can be avoided.

🏡 Ideal Home

Silva could live with another friendly, playful dog and would very much enjoy having a canine companion, but she could also be also happy as the only dog with an active family and possibility to socialise outside with other dogs.

Her dream life would combine the best of both worlds: peaceful family time indoors and plenty of outdoor adventures.

A semi-rural home with a secure garden, countryside walks nearby and people who enjoy spending time outdoors would suit her beautifully.

She doesn’t need constant excitement inside the house. After her exercise and adventures, Silva knows how to switch off and enjoy simply being close to her people.
