💔 Rescue Story

Iggy knew a proper home once. He lived with people in a flat, slept on their bed and was a family dog. Then his family left — and Iggy was left behind. They gave him to old village lady with some mental disorder. There he ended up chained outside by an elderly woman who, according to neighbours, repeatedly mistreated him. He spent almost a year on that chain. Eventually, the abuse escalated terribly: she poured a hot water over him. His thick coat protected him from the worst of it, but he was left with a wound around his neck and needed to be rescued from that home.

There is now only a small scar. What is much harder to understand is that there seems to be no scar on Iggy’s love for people. After being left behind and then treated so cruelly, he still greets humans with trust and kindness. He still wants to be beside them. He still waits for their affection and offers his unconditional love and loyalty.

🐾 More About Iggy

Iggy is currently in a foster living in a flat, and his behaviour at home is described as perfect.

He is exceptionally well mannered and incredibly responsive to people. He watches his humans closely, listens almost from half a word and patiently waits to be invited rather than constantly demanding something.

More than anything, Iggy simply wants companionship. He is happy about almost everything as long as someone is there to share it with. He is friendly with everyone he meets and seems genuinely grateful for every little bit of attention.

One of his sweetest habits is quietly coming over, placing his head on someone’s lap and becoming completely still while he is stroked.

Iggy is also friendly with other dogs. His interactions are generally calm and easy, although he will occasionally join in a game. Another friendly dog could be a lovely companion, but his strongest bond is clearly with people.

He is delicate with older children and is likely to be good with cats too.

🏡 Ideal Home

Iggy could fit beautifully into many different families. He already understands home life, has lovely manners and is naturally eager to cooperate with his people. He could live with another friendly dog or potentially as the only dog where he has plenty of human companionship.

💞 Iggy’s foster carer calls him an angel. Perhaps that’s the simplest and most accurate description of him — an exceptionally kind, gentle boy who asks for very little and gives an enormous amount of love in return. 💙
