UK Surrender(Reading RG4): Tito- 6½ years old, a knee-height boy at only 15–16 kg-Reduced adoption fee

💙🐶 TITO – FIVE YEARS LOVED… NOW LIFE IS CHANGING AGAIN 🐶💙

💔 Some of our long-term followers may remember Tito.
We originally rehomed him around five years ago, when he was still a young dog. Since then he has been deeply loved and has spent those years as part of his family.

Sadly, circumstances have changed again. Following a relationship breakdown, Tito’s owner needs to move into a home where there is already a cat — and Tito simply cannot safely live with cats due to his strong prey drive.

🐾 Meet Tito
Tito is now 6½ years old, a knee-height mixed-breed boy, and only 15–16 kg. A DNA test showed him to be around 52% German Shepherd — and he certainly seems to have inherited the intelligence, loyalty and love of having his clever brain kept busy!

✨ Highlights ✨

• SIZE: Medium, knee-height (approx. 15–16 kg)
• NEUTERED: Yes
• CHARACTER: Intelligent • Loyal • Affectionate • Playful • Sensitive • Active
• DOGS: Social with dogs in neutral environments and regularly attends daycare/group walks, but reactive on lead on regular walks
• CATS: No – strong prey drive
• CHILDREN: Adult-only home preferred
• HOUSETRAINED: Yes

🐾 More About Tito

Tito is a clever, engaging boy who loves interaction with his people. He knows his basic commands including sit, paw and lie down, as well as “in the middle”, where he walks between his person’s legs. He is very food-motivated, enjoys learning and absolutely loves enrichment games, treat mats, tough squeaky toys and a good game of tug.

At home, he is actually a very easy boy. ❤️ He is fully house-trained, non-destructive and can comfortably stay alone for short time after a good walk. He doesn’t need constant entertainment and is perfectly capable of relaxing at home — although a belly rub is always very welcome!

This is what his family says about him:
“Tito is playful and loving. He is very intelligent and loves to be challenged with games and training. He is reactive, but just needs to be told he is safe and for you to stand up for him. He then calms down. He will bark at birds/cats/squirrels. He loves a belly rub! “

Tito is an active dog and currently enjoys around 1,5-2 hours of walking each day, with longer adventures at weekends. He would be wonderful for someone who genuinely enjoys getting outside and wants a proper walking companion rather than a dog who prefers life on the sofa.

He also regularly attends daycare and group walks in enclosed spaces, where he is social with other dogs and enjoys their company.

One thing his future family does need to understand is that Tito can become worried and reactive when on lead, particularly around unfamiliar dogs, scooters and motorbikes. He therefore needs calm, confident handling and continued positive training on walks.

His family says: “Tito attends group walks in an enclosed space and is great with the other dogs in these environments. On the lead it’s a different matter as he can be protective. “

“Tito can get a bit excited around small children. He doesn’t react well to children screaming or running. He gets a bit anxious and tries to jump up at them. “

🏡 Ideal Home

We would love to find Tito an active, experienced adult home in a quieter rural or semi-rural location, ideally with peaceful walking routes nearby and a secure private garden.

He would be happiest as the only pet at home, while still having opportunities to enjoy appropriate socialisation with dogs outside when off leash.

Tito needs people who enjoy intelligent dogs — someone who will give him structure, walks, enrichment, games and affection. In return, they will get a dog who already knows how to live beautifully in a home and who forms incredibly strong bonds with the people he loves.

💞 Tito has spent around five years being someone’s much-loved companion. He loves his walks. He loves his games. He loves learning. He loves belly rubs. And underneath that clever Shepherd mind is a very loyal boy who simply wants to belong to someone again.

Please help us make Tito’s next move a gentle one — from one loving home straight into the arms of another. 💙🐾
