💙🐶 MOON – FROM A LOST DOG WITH NOWHERE TO GO… TO AN AMAZING BOY WAITING FOR HIS FOREVER FAMILY 🐶💙
💔 Two weeks ago, Moon appeared out of nowhere.
An unknown dog wandered into a private garden in Burton-upon-Trent. His finders tried to do the right thing, but their own dogs could not accept him. It was an emergency Sunday evening, the dog warden and RSPCA were closed, and the only alternative was to put him back onto the streets and despite Sunday evening we rushed there
As soon as the dog came into our care:
✅ He was scanned for a microchip.
✅ The Dog Warden was notified and all appropriate legal procedures have been followed.
✅ The dog has been advertised as FOUND across a dozen of local groups.
The statutory 7-day stray period passed. Actually twice this temp. Nobody has come forward for Moon. Sadly, we believe this beautiful boy was abandoned. And now he is for adoption.
🐾 Meet Moon
Moon is around 6 years old — although honestly, nobody would guess it! He looks and behaves like a much younger dog. He has beautiful clean teeth, endless enthusiasm, a playful spirit and so much happiness for life. The only thing that gives away his age is his wonderful balance and calmness. He is lively and joyful, but at the same time incredibly well-mannered and emotionally balanced.
✨ Highlights ✨

🐾 More About Moon
Honestly… Moon is the kind of dog who steals hearts. His foster family says: “Moon is the kindest, sweetest boy you could ask for. It’s honestly hard to put into words just how special our beautiful foster boy is.”
When Moon first arrived, he needed a little time to get used to wearing a harness. Now he absolutely loves seeing it because he knows it means walkies! 🐾
He may pull for the first few moments because he is excited, but then he settles into the sweetest little trot and enjoys his walk like the gentleman he is.
Moon is a true social butterfly. He loves meeting people. He loves meeting dogs. He greets everyone with a little hello kiss and seems convinced that every stranger is simply a friend he hasn’t met yet. 🥰
He is also wonderfully gentle taking treats and already understands “gentle” — something that says a lot about his lovely nature. After everything he has been through, Moon still looks at the world with happiness and trust.
🏡 Ideal Home
Moon is looking for a family who will treasure him. A home where he can enjoy walks, adventures, cuddles and being included in everyday life.
As he is still waiting for neutering, we would ideally love his foster-to-adopt family to be reasonably local to Burton-upon-Trent/Lichfield area, so we can support his journey and arrange his vet care.
💞 His foster family say it best:
“Moon is one very special boy and deserves a family who will give him all the love, all the walks, all the cuddles and all the happiness he deserves.”
We couldn’t agree more. Two weeks ago Moon had nowhere to go. Today he is safe. Now we just need to find the family who will make sure he never feels unwanted again. 💙
🩺 Health Information
Moon is microchipped. Rescue will cover his vaccination course. He is not yet neutered, and neutering will be arranged by the rescue.
