💔 Rescue Story
Archie and his brother were rescued as tiny puppies from the war town of Pokrovsk just before the last civilians fled. He was raised safely but in a very rural, quiet environment. Since arriving in the UK, he has experienced several moves. What Archie has needed all along is stability, guidance and the right canine companionship — and now, in experienced foster care, we are finally seeing his true personality.
🐾 More About Archie – Foster Update
Archie has settled beautifully. From the moment he wakes up, he plays happily with the resident dogs throughout the day until bedtime. Play is his joy, and he clearly benefits enormously from living with confident, balanced dogs.
He is extremely affectionate and naturally submissive with humans. He is eager to please and very responsive to calm, firm guidance. He does not want to disappoint and learns quickly. He is intelligent and easy to train.
He loves his voice— not necessarily barking, but “talking” during play and daily activities. His foster simply asks him to quieten when he becomes too enthusiastic, and he responds well. He will need owners comfortable with a chatty (that’s not just barking) dog.
On walks, he may bark at other dogs, but responds brilliantly to light lead guidance and direction. At home, he can be left comfortably when other dogs are present. He follows his human gently around the house but no longer shows anxious attachment — just sweet companionship.
He is also very polite in house, doesn’t jump up or on anything. Sleeps happily in a dog bed on floor. Doesn’t try come on bed. He has been no problem with clients etc coming in house. X
His foster strongly feels he needs another playful dog in the home, ideally medium or large, though a confident small “gusto” dog could suit. Canine companionship helps him regulate, play appropriately and reduces reliance solely on humans.
When earlier Archie lived as the only dog, he struggled with separation and overstimulation. He found it difficult when either person leaves the house. He was also uncomfortable with visitors and becomes anxious around unfamiliar people. But this issues all gone in a few days since he got in a foster home with other dogs.
🏡 Ideal Home
Archie would thrive in a home with another balanced, playful dog and owners who enjoy interaction, training and structure. He would suit semi-rural or quieter environments best, though with the right handling he is managing more stimulation well.
He needs people who understand that he is sensitive but not fragile, playful but responsive, affectionate and eager to belong. Continued positive training will allow him to become the best canine family member ever.
💞 Archie is no longer the overwhelmed puppy struggling to cope. In the right environment, he is affectionate, playful, clever and deeply loving.
