💔 Why a New Home is Needed
🐶 Chika arrived in the UK in September to what was meant to be her forever home. She settled in the house straight away — clean, affectionate, and gentle from the first moment. Sadly, there were two incidents when strangers she didn’t know well stroked her one in the door bringing parcel, one at night walks after only just meeting her, and she reacted with an air-snap to say she wasn’t ready for that closeness yet. She never bit, never growled, and gave no signs of fear — she simply wasn’t ready to be pushed into interaction so soon. Too much too soon. But family said they can’t trust her, are nervous (even if she is very soft and affectionate with them) and need her to be moved asap. Unfortunately any dog can feel the tense and can become nervous too not understanding what’s going on. So Chika was moved to a Foster and settling well.

All rescue dogs, no matter how friendly, need time to decompress in a new environment. Chika’s nature is open, kind and trusting — but like every dog, she deserves the chance to build trust step by step.

Chika is affectionate, lively, and loves being part of family life. She is house-trained, walks well on the lead, and has a bright, intelligent way of connecting with people. She adores children she knows, plays well with cats, and gets along with dogs (though prefers her food space).
