💔 Rescue Story
Leia’s story could have ended in heartbreak. She and her companion Dior were abandoned outside a rural shop in Ukraine, desperately begging for scraps. The shop owner, tired of them hanging around, made a horrifying call to arrange for them to be poisoned.
But fate intervened. A kind shop worker overheard and couldn’t let it happen. They contacted rescuers who raced to the scene and saved Leia and Dior just in time. Now, Dior has been adopted a while ago and Leia is safe in the UK, and after weeks in foster care, she’s ready for her happily-ever-after.

Foster life has revealed Leia’s true nature – she’s a calm, affectionate, and intelligent girl who thrives on human companionship. She loves exploring the garden, enjoys regular brushing, and can often be found playing with her toys or soaking up affection.
She walks nicely on a lead, happily ignores other dogs on walks, and has learned to settle well at home. Leia can be left alone for 2–3 hours and does well with older children who understand how to respect her space.
She is not yet confident around heavy traffic, so she’ll flourish with quieter walks and a secure garden to enjoy. Leia’s foster family say:
