💔 Rescue Story
🐶 Rocky and his siblings were found at just one month old, left under the gate of an elderly lady’s house. Vulnerable and tiny, they were soon taken into a local shelter where Rocky has grown into a confident, joyful boy despite the challenges of shelter life. He’s now awaiting a loving forever home where he can feel safe, loved, and truly flourish.

🐶 Rocky arrived in UK a few weeks ago and is currently at Foster and that’s what Foster say about him: ” Rocky is a truly gorgeous soul. When he trusts you, the look of adoration he gives you, the way he looks up and deeply into your eyes as he sits right up close to your legs is heart-moving ♥

Trust comes slow for him though. He is frightened of pretty much everything: sudden noises, sudden appearances in his field of vision, people on walks (especially dark haired men), wind blowing, leaves rustling… although he is curious about other dogs.

A walk takes a long time – but he can now go on the lead on a collar and a harness. He pulls as he feels safer walking down the middle of the road (his fear of cars is improving!) and we are working on him walking on the inside of the pavement. His lead needs holding firmly, as he can try to bolt if he spooks, and you would struggle to get him back at that point.

At home Rocky loves to cuddle up on the sofa with his trusted humans and has a soft spot for tickles at the back of his head behind his ears. He is submissive to our bullying (but lovely) half his size female. She was adopted at the same time and vies for attention.

Rocky is becoming more confident in pushing back with this, and asking for loves. They race around the garden together having great fun – you can see the smile on his face! He will come when called by a trusted person, but can be skittish. I think he would be best with a gentle slightly older dog to show him the ropes.

Rocky obviously does hold onto wees, as he will go for a long one when taken out first thing in the morning, having left the puppy pads clean. He has a sensitive tum and doesn’t help himself by chewing things like soft rubber feeding bowl mats 🤦🏼‍♀ It will come as no surprise that he is frightened of cats – especially the ones that hide behind curtains to guard the back door 😉 but I’m sure this could be overcome with time. Rocky has been with us for just over 2 weeks, and we’d love to keep him, but he was always a foster for us, as we adopted the other. He deserves more time than we can possibly give him as we all work full-time and shifts, but he will reward you with so much in the end. I’m more than happy to chat on the phone to answer any questions from prospective adopters. ”

🐶 Rocky is an affectionate, playful, and energetic lad. He adores toys and garden games, loves chasing balls or his favourite squeaky toy, and is full of joyful energy. He gets along well with other dogs, especially calm, friendly companions, and is calm with cats. He is submissive and not pushy.

🐶 Rocky thrives when he has company, whether human or canine, and can become anxious in situations where he feels unsafe. With guidance, patience, and love, he shows his loyal, loving side.

🏡 Ideal Family
🐶 Rocky would flourish in a home where someone is around much of the time to provide regular attention, love, and play. He would benefit from a calm, friendly dog companion, ideally a larger dog, and a family who can provide consistent guidance and reassurance. Gentle, dog-savvy children would be ideal, and Rocky would thrive in a household that balances fun adventures with cosy cuddle times.

🐶 Rocky is fully healthy. Neutered. Has all core vaccines done, microchipped. All dogs are C.Brucella tested before the trip (owners will receive a licensed laboratory test certificate).
