He’s playful and loyal, yet calm and careful, watching the world with kind eyes that seem to ask only for understanding and love.

💔 Rescue Story
Dan’s life began in the middle of war. Together with his brother Benny and a few other pups, he was discovered by a kind soldier among the ruins of a bombed-out house — their mother had been killed by shrapnel. The soldier cared for them as best he could, sharing his food and shelter in the trenches. Desperate for help, he sent out a plea online. And our partner rescue replied. But it was hard to find a transport ready to go over 1000 km to frontline to collect pups. And a brave British volunteer, Brian, stepped in and drove deep into the war zone to bring the puppies to safety. Dan’s journey from the battlefield to the safety of foster care is nothing short of a miracle — proof that kindness still survives even in the darkest times.

Now living with a foster family in a quiet countryside home, Well, the word “quiet” doesn’t really describe any place in Ukraine now, as missiles and drones (see video) are reaching everywhere and already became a routine there.
Dan has learned to trust again. He’s fully housetrained, affectionate, and calm indoors. He loves his walks, enjoys playtime in the garden, and is very social with other dogs. Though a little wary in new surroundings and with unfamiliar people at first, he warms up quickly when shown kindness. On his own ground, he’s alert, but outside the gate he greets everyone with cheerful curiosity.
He’s a bright boy who loves learning and thrives on positive attention. Active, loyal, and gentle — Dan is the perfect companion for someone who wants a true friend by their side.

Dan will flourish in a rural or semi-rural home, away from city traffic and loud noises. He needs a garden, regular exercise, and a patient, loving family who will help him continue building confidence. Another friendly female dog is essencial to guide and reassure him, as he’s happiest with canine company. Older children (10+) would suit his calm yet playful temperament.

All dogs are C.Brucella tested before travel (owners receive a licensed laboratory test certificate).
