💔 Rescue Story
Benny’s story mirrors that of his brother, Dan — both were born into a war zone. Found in a ruined house near the front line, their mother had tragically been killed by shrapnel. A kind soldier discovered the litter and took them into the trenches, caring for them amid explosions and danger. As the puppies grew, the soldier knew he couldn’t keep them safe forever. He reached out for help, and a brave volunteer named Brian drove across the country into active conflict to bring the pups to safety.
That was the start of Benny’s second chance at life — a story written by courage and compassion.

Benny has been living with a foster family in a peaceful countryside home, surrounded by love and nature. Well, the word “peaceful” doesn’t really describe any place in Ukraine now, as missiles and drones (see video) are reaching everywhere and already because a routine there. He’s housetrained, gentle, and eager to please. In his familiar environment, he’s confident and affectionate — following his person, snuggling on the sofa (“a true couch bug,” as his foster calls him, when Benny refuse to go out in dark and cold 😁), and showering them with loving devotion.
At first, Benny may be a little cautious when meeting new people or exploring new surroundings, but give him just ten minutes and his loving personality will shine through. He’s friendly with other dogs and loves playtime, walks, and his beloved toys. Indoors, he’s calm and well-behaved; outdoors, he’s lively, curious, and joyful. He adores human touch and melts when gently stroked.

Benny would thrive in a rural or semi-rural home, away from city noise and traffic. He needs space to run, play, and explore, as well as a secure garden to enjoy his freedom safely. He would do best with another friendly female dog for companionship and guidance. An adult home or family with older, gentle children would suit him well, especially those who appreciate dogs who enjoy both play and peaceful sofa time.
